Yang Chunlin, a human rights activist who has been held since
July 2007 for taking part in the “We want human rights not Olympic
Games” campaign, is to be tried on 19 February. His lawyer, Li
Fangping, said he feared his client would be found guilty of “inciting
subversion of state power.” Yu Changwu and Wang Guilin, two other
participants in the campaign, were sentenced last month to reeducation
through work.
Yang’s sister, Yang Chunping, said he has not received any family
visits since his arrest. She said she feared she would not be able to
attend the trial as it has been classified as involving “state secrets.”

Son avocat, Li Fangping, craint qu’il ne soit reconnu
coupable d'”incitation à la subversion du pouvoir de l’Etat”. Yu
Changwu et Wang Guilin, également impliqués dans la campagne, ont été
condamnés en janvier 2008 à des peines de rééducation par le travail.
La
soeur du militant, Yang Chunping, a déclaré qu’il n’avait reçu aucune
visite de sa famille depuis son arrestation. Elle craint de ne pas
pouvoir à assister aux audiences, au motif qu’il s’agit d’une affaire
incluant des “secrets d’Etat”.
